Professional training, mastery of FIDIC contracts

Target audience

• Operational staff responsible for preparing and implementing construction projects.
• Project directors, project managers or construction engineers.
• Lawyers and solicitors who may be called upon to assist operational staff in setting up and/or administering these contracts.
• Administrative and financial managers, purchasing managers.
• Project financiers.

Prerequisites

For most of these FIDIC contract training courses, experience in preparing and/or implementing a construction project is required. Some courses require completion of modules 1 and 2.

Objectives

• Understand the roles and responsibilities, as well as the risks allocated to the Parties.
• Master contract administration, from its formation to its closure.
• Master the key processes in the life of the contract: modifications, payments, acceptance, claims, disputes, etc., in FIDIC contracts.

Teaching methods

Training materials in English (the main working language for FIDIC contracts), accompanied by oral explanations in French, practical exercises and case studies based on the trainers' project experience and case law, assessment forms.

Duration

The duration of the training depends on the modules selected, the needs identified and the profiles of the participants. Some training courses are tailor-made and the modules last on average between 1 and 3 days.
